Record Just one Scene

This sounds like a simple thing to do, and I can't find other posts where people are asking this, so maybe it is something I just missed when looking through menus and options....

I have a scene set up to play back exactly how I want when I press "transition" in studio mode. I want to record a video file of exactly just that scene. The only way I have found so far is to click "start recording" and then press "transition" as quickly as I can, but since I am not a computer myself, I cannot do those two things instantly and end up having a moment of a blank/dummy scene in the recording that I have to trim out later.

Is there a way to make the recording start at the beginning of a scene and end when that scene's primary video source ends ? (or even ending when all video sources end would be okay)

I tried your suggestion of Source Record. It is a really nice plugin to have, but it does not solve my problem. When I set Source Record to record on "Record", it does not start the pre-recorded source video from the start like I need it to. I still have to manually switch to that scene to make the pre-recorded source video start, which still leaves me with a gap that I have to edit out manually later.

I really want to be able to record just the scene starting at the beginning of the source video file and ending exactly when the source video ends.

Does anyone have any other ideas? Maybe this is just too far from the main purpose of OBS - which is still quite an amazing tool.

Go to Settings->Hotkeys and define the same hotkey for "Start Recording" as well as "Transition", then use this hotkey to do your recording. Both actions will be executed simultaneously.
