Record audio without video

Hi Guys,

In some cases I need to record only audio without video. Is it possible?
I see media stream even if I don't record screen. I have just black video. As a result size of file is too big.

I don't think it's possible, obs was created to make videos, so the option of only capturing the audio I don't think was contemplated during its development.
I recommend that you try using software for audio recording: Audacity, Reaper, Voicemeter, etc.

What @JonathanC09 said. OBS is WAY overkill for audio only. Plus, the devs have responded to a lot of suggestions for audio improvement with, "OBS is not a DAW, and never will be."

So if you don't have video, don't use OBS.

And if you're doing something beyond the very basics with audio, even if you do also have video, you should still do all of the audio work in a separate tool that's designed for that job, like a real DAW or a physical console. Then bring the finished soundtrack into OBS to pass through unchanged. OBS is then completely silent except for that one source: all of the audio stuff connects directly to that other tool and is managed over there.
