Question / Help Record and Stream with different scenes

I am looking for a way to stream and record at the same time but with different resolutions and different scene settings.

For the stream I want to have the different notifications running as well as a banner that states when I am recording so that chat will know why I am not responding to them. Then I also want to be able to record (at a higher resolution) but I do not want the sounds, webcam or notifications to show up on the recording (for YouTube).

I have done this previously with using OBS to stream and Camtasia studio 8 for recording but there seems to be some conflicts when using the two together.

Until that is implemented... any suggestions on a good screen recorder that does not have conflicts like Camtasia does?

If you're recording through a capture card, check if it works with AmarecTV. That should record just fine next to OBS.

Not using a capture card. I'm using a single PC to game, stream, and record.
Specs are...
i5-4440 CPU
16g memory
MSI GTX 970 Gaming 4G GPU

Normally, my recording and streaming are done separately but I am wanting to start streaming the "off-camera" stuff during my recording. When I try to use OBS and Camtasia at the same time, I get all kinds of instability.
