Question / Help Recommended Secondary Graphics Card?

This is not necessarily a "Help" question, but I was recently informed of the ability to use a separate graphics card for recording and encoding in OBS Studio. At this moment, I have a GTX 1080 Ti that I would use for gaming. I need a graphics card powerful enough to record and encode at 1440p (high framerates) and also handle a GoPro video feed at 1080p.

My GTX 1080 Ti would handle the gaming, and my CPU (Intel i7-7820X) can handle it as well. I just need the card for encoding and recording. Hopefully someone has a recommendation! I've had it suggested that a GTX 950 or 1050 would work. I'd just like either a verification on that or a new recommendation.

The recommendation is to not bother trying to use a second video card. It's more hassle than it's worth.

NVENC is handled in dedicated silicon on the processor and does not take away resources from the game.
