Question / Help Recommended HD Camera and Microphone for Live Church stream

Hi guys
We had our first broadcast today using a Surface Pro, Windows 10, OBS and YouTube Live, using an audio technica USB microphone and a Log 922 1080P web cam.
All in all went well, but I think we really need to step up the lighting, camera and potentially increase/improve the audio.

I've got a Nikon D90 and Canon EOS-M SLR camera which I could potentially use for the next stream, but heard they are not really 'built' for streaming... are there any well priced cameras out there (entry level) which are superior to a Logitech 922 but won't cost me an arm a leg, or can I use the Nikon D90 or Canon EOS M with a"U Tap" HDMI to USB Capture device and use that to connect to my Surface Pro during the live feed?

Broadcast was super stable today and worked a treat with the Windows 10 / Surface Pro setup.

Thanks so much

I'm not an expert but I do own EOS-M as well, the HDMI output that comes out of it is not good quality, I don't think it was meant for recording/streaming but just for previewing, I'm looking at the Canon SL3 which is very inexpensive and does output high quality HDMI video (by specs) and should work great for you too.

Take a look at this post of mine and also watch the videos there.

Again I'm not an expert but some mics that I think might work for you are:

Rode podcaster- for close proximity and wont get much of the surrounding, more for a speaker that is close to it, I own the Rode Procaster which is similar but not USB so I know how it sounds and how sensitive it is.

An XY recorder like a Zoom recorder / A shotgun mic like Rode shotguns. Just my 2 cents.. Good luck.
