I tried to stream Halo Infinite the other day and I constantly had encoding error issues. It would lag the stream until I alt tabbed back into OBS and let it recover the frames but I saw it dip all the way down 8fps for my stream. I do stream and game on the same PC so I was wondering what encoder settings and things I could do to mitigate the encoding errors. I am current using the Nvenc h264.
I turned the settings down in Halo to low (I know its a fast paced game) and it seemed to be working but still taking about 12% or so of usage, according to OBS. I do stream at 1080p60fps at a low 4000 bitrate so that is definitely not helping. I dont know that much about hardware so I was wondering what would be my best move to give great quality on my stream but not get these encoding errors.
My specs are as follows:
Motherboard: MSI Z390-A PRO
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 - EVGA
CPU: i7-8700K 6-Core 3.7 GHZ
32GB RAM
Would my best move be just to turn my stream quality settings down?
Is Nvenc the best for my stream or would x264 be better?
Here is a log of the last stream (Internet crashed at the end)
