Question / Help Rebel T6 with Mac

Hello,

I am new to screen recording in general just to get that out of the way. That aside, is there a way to utilize my Canon T6 as a video source? I read about a couple of PC solutions that make this possible but none for MacOS. I am currently running Sierra. I'm thinking, I just need to get a capture card like black magic or something, but just wondering if there was a free program that would allow me to utilize the camera. Thx in advance!

Googling for "Clean HDMI out Canon T6" comes back with some suggestions that the T6 was planned to have this, but also reviews saying it does not have the ability to output a HDMI signal without overlays. This will make using a capture card difficult.
