Hello! I have a really low end laptop and I would like to RECORD my gameplay. I and I don't have a dedicated gpu only a integrated intel uhd 600. Whenever I run the game and record at the same time I get screen freezes and input lag. Please give me the lowest settings possible for recording in obs. If a reason able quality is not possible then I just want to be able to record. Specs-

CPU: intel celeron
GPU: intel uhd 600
Installed RAM 4.00 GB
System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor

Been there! Try using OBS with the QuickSync encoder if your CPU supports it. Also, set canvas to 720p and bitrate around 1500–2000, surprisingly decent quality on low-end setups. Good luck!

I have done set the canvas to 720p and bitrate to 1500 but it is still too laggy also I will need to check if quicksync encoder is supported on that cpu. I'll get back to you soon (1 to 3 days) and check if quicksync is supported

The cpu is a Intel(R) Celeron(R) N4020 CPU at 1.10Ghz
ram: 4gigs 2400 MT/s
Gpu: Intel(R) UHD Graphics 600
And it supports QuickSync Encoder But idk which is better for performance QuickSync H.264 or QuickSync HEVC so if its possible to tell me which one is better please do.
Also this laptop's native resolution is 1366x768 so 720p won't change much in terms of performance because its only a little less

sooo yeah this laptop is pretty trash
So I need help getting obs is run on this thing

You can find some useful thoughts in the next thread (lower resolution, let's say 360x200):

Hmm ok but I tried 720p 30fps but it was too laggy. So should I drop it down to 480p or 360x200 because 480p still maintains the 16:9 aspect ratio which is the ratio that I need

ok so what meant to say was 480p is a resolution that youtube uses thats why I want to use it over 360x200.

Update: I tried what the other thread said and it made windows it self less laggy but other programs are still way too laggy to use while recording

A small performance improvement could be achieved if you set in OBS settings > Video > base (canvas) resolution the same as the output resolution. Since your output resolution is somewhat smaller, this reduces the compositing load.

Otherwise, most impact has resolution (half the resolution means 4 times less load) and fps (half the fps means half the load). So if you have still issues, reduce resolution and fps even more. If this gets too small for you, you need faster hardware.
Make sure you don't use any filters, and in Settings > Advanced > Video make sure you're using the OBS defaults.

I have already done this and reduced it to 480p and 30fps
