Hi all
Today I have finally managed to use a small raspberryPi4 to broadcast live on my own nginx-rtmp server that I have in another town a stream of a movie in HD (720p) - 25fps at 1000kbs using OBS with OMX.
To do this I have used the trick of using the custom record section by modifying the parameters, which I show you here.
Hope this serves to convince programmers to add h264_omx as a preferred option in the Streaming section when available.
I would like to point out that the raspberry version of FFMPEG includes this feature by default and allows hardware encoding.
Broadcasting with OBS in HD with libx264, the processor reached 95% and exceeded 80º of temperature, with a generous heatsink and a 4010 fan.
But with h264_omx I have 50% cpu and a temperature of 50-55º.
Soon I will try 3 IP cameras
