I'm using OBS Studio with an Elgato HD60 S+. I have 4 scenes configured, 2 title cards, 1 capture screen with borders and 1 capture screen which is full screen. I generally start recording with a few seconds on each of the 2 title cards before selecting one of the capture screens. The problem is that sometimes when I playback my recording im missing the first few seconds of the recording, to the point where it misses the first title card and voice over entirely, only picking up halfway through the second title card.
I always do test runs of mic checks and volume levels before recording a capture and these too can sometimes exhibit the same issue.
It doesn't do it for every capture though, it seems to happen randomly, maybe 1 in ever 4 video is missing those first few seconds. A workaround would be to just record 5 seconds of silence before starting my capture but then I'd need to trim that bit off of my video and thus recompress the video introducing more quality loss in the end result.
Both my C drive and my capture drive are on separate SSD drives so there shouldn't be any latency in outputting to the drive. Im capturing at 1080p60. There doesn't appear to be any issues with the end video that I can tell, no frame skips or anything like that. It's just the intro is being chopped off randomly.
