19:26:08.531: [jim-nvenc: 'simple_h264_stream'] init_encoder: nvEncGetEncodePresetConfig failed: 15 (NV_ENC_ERR_INVALID_VERSION)

This is a known issue with the NVENC encoder that currently does not have a solution or workaround.

Thank you so much for the input. for my options as an encoder I have 3.... NVENC, QSV which says they are hardware. and one that is software called x264. I havent tried to use the others. they any good ??? or can i even use them

NVENC = Dedicated encoder on your NVIDIA card. The best option, but it looks like it is having a problem on your machine right now.

QSV = Your Intel integrated GPU. Will also offload your CPU, but not as high quality as NVENC.

x264 = your CPU. Can potentially offer the highest quality at preset speeds veryfast or slower than that, but will load your CPU. All presets slower than veryfast dramatically increase CPU load with only marginal quality improvements.

Thanks man your awesome. I will try the QSV next time and see how it goes. hopefully the quality wont be too bad lol. i feel like the x264 might be too much on the cpu. thanks for my first lesson on encoders lol

So i tried out the QSV encoder and i got dropped pretty quick. Now i did change to that encoder during the stream instead before going live. Im thinking that was the issue and i should do that before. So then i changed to the X264 before going live again and yes that made the cpu work a lot harder. never got kicked with it but dropped some frames here and there and the stream was laggy.

https://obsproject.com/logs/_OqDMAcq7cIop9CY thats the log when i switched from NVENC to QSV.

Now you said the NVENC is having this issue and no current fix or workaround.... How long ago did it start happening and are the trying to fix it?
Im just trying to make sense of it all. Like is the encoder having problems with OBS or is it to twitch..
Thanks again for your help.

The log only includes attempts using NVENC that result in an NVENC error. There are no attempts in the log that use QSV.

Thats what i saw. The other log only shows me using the X264. so i am assuming you cant actually switch encoders while streaming. I will try just QSV next time.

Still not sure what my issue is.
Its weird that sometimes even when using the NVENC i wont have issues at all then sometimes its back to back lasting only like 5 minutes.

again i really appreciate you helping me
