Question / Help Random frame drops in middle of night

Hello guys,

New to the world of OBS. I have a very good machine. I streamed for 8 hours with no frame drops at all yesterday and today comes around and I'm dropping thousands.

Intel Core i7 6700K 4.00GHz Quad Core Processor
Asus ROG Maximus VIII Hero Motherboard
Corsair Vengeance LPX (4x8GB) DDR4 DRAM
NZXT Phantom 630 Windowed Full Tower Case (Matte Black)
Corsair RM850 Gold Edition Power Supply
Samsung 850 EVO 500GB SSD
Cooler Master Hyper 612 V2 CPU Air Cooler
EVGA GeForce GTX 960 4GB FTW Gaming ACX2.0+
TP-Link Archer T9E Dual Band Wireless Adapter w/ GHz @ 1300Mbps

I'm running OBS Studio 0.16.6 (64 Bit Windows 10).

delete 'OpenCL=true' from your custom x264 settings

other than that the log looks fine very few to no frame drops. also there are many different settings which one do you normally use that you were getting frame drops on?

I don't have 'OpenCL=true' anywhere, can I place 'OpenCL=false' in there?

No sir. It goes fine for a long time and all of a suddenly it starts to get worse and worse. I will upload a new file tonight. I have 100mbps/10mbps internet and my servers are all in good condiiton. I've switched servers many times to attempt to find the problem.

Well its confirmed it is your connection.

14:16:08.695: Output 'adv_stream': Number of dropped frames due to insufficient bandwidth/connection stalls: 10985 (21.8%)

I'm not sure what your connection speed is but its holding you back. Now your pure internet speed means little while streaming, its more important for it to be very consistent. If you were fine before and not now it is probably your ISP. You might need to contact them. Also if you are using WiFi i'd strongly recommend running an Ethernet cable.

It's verified that it only drops when I'm playing games on my computer, not when I use a capture card and play on the xb1. I use a wired connection.
