this is more of an internet issue i cant seem to figure out but every time i stream, exactly after an hour has passed my internet cuts out and i have to reboot my computer for it to work again. this only happens when i use obs on twitch; i lowered my bitrate below the recommended usage and it still happens. when i use it to stream on youtube i dont get the same issue. my comp is hard wired to the router. any guesses as to why this is happening? has anyone else gone through this?

Fire up OBS and then start the stream and look in Task Manager and see what your memory % reads. Then after streaming for a while check it again. I believe you are having a memory leak issue with OBS just like me and I cannot figure it out. I have now dumbed obs down to just Display Capture and not even streaming only have NDI sending the audio/video to another pc which I also do NOT have streaming. While sitting here with task manager open I can literally watch my memory % rise 1% at a time. The interval is short as well... I would say that over a 10 minute period my memory % with obs open has gone from 20% to 40% and when I close OBS it does not drop back down. The memory is being used and I'm not sure why or what is causing the issue. This makes me sad because I don't recall ever having this happen in the past and I wish I could find an answer for it.
Edit: You probably don't need to stream at all.... Just open OBS and Task Manager and keep an eye on your Memory % for a while.

If a network issue such as yours happens with Twitch but not with Youtube, it's not a thing with your computer or with your home network connection. It's some issue with the Twitch server you use. Try to switch to a different Twitch server. To find the best server that works for you, use the TwitchTest tool from r1ch.
