Hi everyone,
As mentioned in the title, I’m recording PS5 gaming videos using a cheap capture card and trying to achieve the best quality possible given my setup. However, I’m running into some issues, and I’d love your advice!
Here’s my setup:
I’m attaching the log file for reference (if that helps pinpoint the issue).

As mentioned in the title, I’m recording PS5 gaming videos using a cheap capture card and trying to achieve the best quality possible given my setup. However, I’m running into some issues, and I’d love your advice!
Here’s my setup:
- Computer: Runs on an Intel iGPU
- Encoder: Quicksync H.264
- Rate Control: ICQ, quality set to 24
- Target usage: TU4
- Capture Card Resolution: 1920x1080 @ 60 FPS (same for video output)
I’m attaching the log file for reference (if that helps pinpoint the issue).
Here are my questions:
- Could the issue be related to my encoder settings?
- Would it help to switch from H.264 to HEVC?
- Should I stick with ICQ rate control or consider adjusting the quality range, target usage, or another setting?
- Are there any specific settings I should tweak to make the recording smoother and lag-free?
