Question / Help Quick Sync encoder not showing up

So after installing Windows 8.1 (wipe, not upgrade), updating drivers, and getting the virtual display enabled I can't seem to get the Quick Sync encoder to show up in OBS-MP. It works just fine in old OBS, but neither 32 or 64 bit OBS-MP show QS as an available encoder. Anyone know a way to fix this?

Intel HD Graphics is needed for quicksync. Does intel HD graphics show up on device manager as part of display adapters?

If missing HD graphics, enter motherboard settings by pressing a button several times when computer is turning on. This button be DEL, F2, depends on motherboard. Look for an option that enables integrated graphics processing unit. (iGPU)

Virtual Display might not be needed, that won't make intel quick sync working if there is no "intel HD graphics" in device manager.

If he had it working before the wipe, then I highly doubt he needs to enable Intel graphics in the BIOS.

Double check your Intel graphics drivers are installed properly (check device manager)
Other than that, it should work.

Luckily the old OBS quicksync implementation is coming to OBS-mp in 0.13.0.

That's great to hear!

Though it is strange that just yesterday when I had Windows 7 installed the Quick Sync encoder showed in the list, but the log said that it's disabled below Windows 8 due to "performance issues."

So much for upgrading.

Edit: To specify, I have an i5-3570k with the HD Graphics drivers installed and a virtual monitor created. Old OBS Quick Sync works just fine.
