Question / Help Quick Question: which of these two settings is less GPU intensive?

Out of these two NVenc settings which one is the most GPU intensive and by how much?

1: CBR 50K Preset=High Quality Profile=high [2pass]

2: CQP 15 Preset=High Quality Profile=high [2pass]

If number 2 is less intensive on the GPU what bitrate for settings 1 would give similar GPU usage? IE what would I have to lower the 50k bitrate to to match the GPU usage of settings 2.

Thanks

NVENC uses a dedicated chip on the GPU and doesn't affect the rendering load. CQP is a better choice for local recording.

But CQP isn´t working correct if you do longer recordings 30+ minutes. I experienced slowmotions without sound for 2-4 seconds sometimes in the video. I don´t have that issue using VBR.

@VanDuits CQP is working fine, and I haven't seen any reports otherwise. If you're having issues please make your own thread instead of hijacking this one.

@Astralogic I'm sure if you try you can find values that will make NVENC choke, for example why would you ever want to record at 500 Mbps? As I stated in my last post CQP is a better choice for a local recording. If you don't need any of the extra options in Advanced Output mode, use the recording quality presets in Simple Output mode instead and everything will be configured appropriately.

I normally do use CQP, but on the occasions it records glitchy video (which seems to be game specific IE Talos Principle) I have to use VBR/CBR.
