Questions about advanced audio options

Hi there,

I was wondering if you could tell me. When you would use control say your alerts audio via obs instead of through your desktop audio ? What’s the advantages and disadvantages of doing this in your opinion?

the problem is when you output the sound to you desktop soundcard you record/Stream it 2 times when you want to hear it you need a mixer or a mixer / DAW software like voicemeter /reaper.
I appreciate the response. Couldn’t I just use headphones though?

so you can send a stream mix and have the obs monitor only on you earphones !
