Question / Help Projector output black level off? Shows grey.

When outputting to the projector output, the areas that are black show as grey.

Is this an issue with the black level? I tried some different color format / space combinations from the advanced settings menu, but they seemed to have no effect.

OBS 23.2.1
Mac OS 10.13.4

Update:

I guess it is not all things black. Using a color bars or other source with black is ok.

The problem only presents when there is the absence of a source. So any letterboxing / pillars or just trying to use an empty scene as a "black" show as grey.

I am able to workaround by adding a black color source to each scene, but it seems like this should not be necessary.

have the same problem and the black colour source does not help in my case since i use the projector for adding it as a source in a hardware videomixer (atem television HD).
Did you find a reason for the gray background for empty spaces or maybe a better solution than the solid black as extra source?
