Question / Help Progressively worse audio delay

When OBS 20.1.3 (new install, running as Admin) is open on the PC, audio delay gets progressively worse to the point where there's a 5+ second audio sync delay. Restarting OBS fixes the problem. It occurs in display capture, window capture, and game capture, using x264 and NVENC, and Desktop Audio Capture and Audio Output Capture

Make sure your Audio sample rate is the same in windows and also the same across all audio sources which also includes your mic

I have the same setup you have. I had the same issue with audio lag. It's not OBS. I was apparently behind in drivers for Realtek HD Audio. I'm now using Driver Version: 6.0.1.7997. It was the ASUS EZ Update that directed me to the update, not Windows. Nor when I tried to update from Device Manager, did it update, and I did try multiple times thinking it may have been the audio driver.

(not pertaining to OBS, but could affect OBS's performance)
But due to recent Windows 10 updates pertaining to Spectre and Meltdown, it did mess up my ASUS software pertaining to AI Suite 3 and EZ UPdates, along the handy fan controls. If you can't get AI Suite3 to launch I found a beta version posted by their Admin on the ASUS ROG forum. I access EZ Update through AI Suite 3.
