Question / Help program to adjust mic sensitivity?

im trying to record my gameplay and party audio on xbox using game streaming and party chat from the app (wish id looked into this earlier) but im having an issue with my mic being way to sensitive on the xbox app so its picking up more than id like

im trying to find a program that will allow me to change my mics settings for a noise gate or for voice activation then let me use the output from that as the audio input for both obs and the xbox app so it would need to appear as a recording device

any suggestions?
 
Many options for fine-tuning your video and audio sources in OBS Studio are in the Filters menu. To access this menu, right click on your source (or click the Gear icon next to an audio source) and select Filters. For more info, see our guide: https://goo.gl/lSj2Jd

In particular look into the "Compressor" filter.

oh yeah, ive got it working fine in just obs, its just the xbox app thats picking up everything from the mic, since im using the same input for both i was hoping to be able to adjust the audio before it gets to obs since the xbox app has nothing for it :/
