Program crashing; please help.

Hello, I'd really appreciate some help.

I downloaded OBS for the first time today, and I haven't been able to record a single video. Every time I click 'Start Recording' the program freezes for a few seconds before it crashes. I tried a bunch of things: restarting my computer, updating it, uninstalling then reinstalling OBS, making sure my GPU was updated, etc. but nothing's worked. It wasn't until about ten minutes ago that I noticed that the Recording and the Broadcasting button are both slashed through. I'm not tech-savvy inn the slightest so I'd really be thankful for any sort of advice. Here is the log file: https://obsproject.com/logs/TE9QrGNtC83xt3HA

I attached the most recent crash report. And I haven't changed the recording format from mkv to mp4, if that's what you're referring to.

How did you make sure your GPU drivers were updated?

I have been struggeling with several issues recently. Not exactly same setup as you, though.

For what it's worth, have a look in the Event Viewer at the date and time of your crash. See if there are any warnings or errors reported which might help you in the right direction. According to the crash log it seems to be related to GPU.

I have been struggling with many issues recently and discovered one of my issues was related to the Win11 upgrade messing up some drivers, causing some system files to be corrupted. This can be checked by running command promt (in admin mode) and typing: sfc /scannow

Windows was not able to fix all my issues and rather fooling around trying to restore my system to a known running state, I just decided to do a reinstallation of Windows. This fixed the corrupt update of Win11 and also some other issues I experienced.

The other thing that made a big impact was to disable Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling. Seems to be bugged in Win11?

this is wrong. GPU drivers should always be updated from the GPU chipset manufacturer's site.
Intel, nvidia or AMD.

Device manager's database for GPU drivers is several YEARS out of date.
