program asking for a folder that wasn't created by instalation

Hi
The program keeps opening a banner asking for a file c:\Users|myname\Appdata|roaming|obs-studio\bin\64bit\.vbs that wasn't created within the installation and there is no .vbs file to place there
Any help is appreciated

There's no and should not be a "bin" folder inside %appdata%\obs-studio\
Uninstall OBS, delete %appdata%\obs-studio\ folder. Use a good antivirus like Malwarebytes to scan your system.

Thanks. I've done that already twice with no result. I just didn't looked for the folder \bin and delete it. I'll try that. I have Norton. I suppose it's ok.

Hi. I uninstalled and reboot and it shows the same message even though there is no more OBS folder.

OBS does not use VBS scripts. Some other program or plugin on your system is trying to execute a VBS script out of an OBS folder for some reason. Using Process Explorer while the error dialog is open might help to isolate where it is coming from.

There was a history of these messages coming up that was VERY common with the google ad delivered sites impersonating the official site and distributing malware.

Thx for the sugestion. I can't find any information on process explorer since this message appears even with OBS closed. When opened the directory is C:\Program Files\obs-studio\bin\64bit\ which as no script in a dir \bin\64bit\.vbs

I am having the same problem and downloaded he program directly from your site. It appeared AFTER I uninstalled your program. I have used several Anti Virus Programs. I have Searched the entire hard drive, and the registry (using REGEDIT) and looked in all the StartUp, Services and System Files and Directories. This error appeared ONLY after I performed an UNINSTALL and then rebooted the computer. I can find no Program that call for this file.

For anti-virus I recommend to use Malwarebytes as you can use the full version free period to fully scan the computer (not only the default scan). Malware tend to not use the registry but do autostart with windows using windows own files to call it.

Some times the only way to fix this is to format all the discks, reintall the OS and all the programs legally adquired. Stay away from pirated software. All of them comes with malware.
