Complete newbie here ....

I was able to copy an old vcr tape to my laptop last week, however, now that I want to edit/save it to disk,
I can't open the program or the file without a product key.
Unfortunately I didn't save the number when I loaded the program ...

Please advise, it's a very old video of my kids and also some family members who have passed...

If the file is proprietary, then you may need the software. At the very least try opening the file with VLC. If you get any audio and video then you should be able to extract/convert it to a usable format.

OBS Studio does not require a product key so you're using different software. Try contacting the developer for your key.

I was trying to open a link that my daughter used on my laptop.. looks like i have some cleaning up/deleting to do!
