Question / Help Problems with NVENC encoding

Hey guys, lately I have tried to start streaming however technical issues have stopped me. When I stream or record using NVENC as my encoder, the recording is usually fine but my game takes a 10-20 frame rate drop and it becomes unplayable. However when I tried Shadowplay for recording and streaming, there was no performance hit AT ALL (even when recording at 4K!). Does anyone know if there is a way I can record and stream with OBS with little to no performance hit with NVENC like I can with Shadowplay? I'm sorry if I sound like a dumbass typing this out. I'm on mobile, I'm tired and I don't really get how all this works for the most part. Thanks in advance

cant say much because you didnt provide a log, but yes nvenc in obs is not working as good as shadowplay (which has its own problems like corrupting videos). its because some features like faster frame capturing methods are not available to be accesed by open source software. thank nvidia for this
use quicksync if you have intel cpu
