Question / Help Problems with heavy framedrops if OBS is active

Hello guys,

i want to stream to twitch with OBS.
I tried several Settings in OBS, but I always get heavy framedrops ingame when OBS is running.

My Setup looks like this:

CPU: Intel Core-i5-4690K overclocked to 4x3,2GHz
RAM: 32 GB DDR3-1866
Hard Disks: 250GB Samsung Evo 850 SSD + 3x Western Digital Black 2 TB
Graphics: Zotac GeForce GTX1080 AMP! Edition
Power Supply: Corsair CS650M 650Watts

I play on 3440x1440 resolution (cause its the native solution of my main screen). I get the problems even if i use my second screen (1080p) for playing.
Anyone ideas, which settings i should use for streaming (btw. Output is at the moment downsized to 1080p).

I would be grateful if anyone could help me out.

Thanks in advance.

Best regards

OBS needs some GPU power for rendering your scene, scaling it, filtering it etc.
The scene rendering will be active, even if you only start OBS and deactivate the live preview.

So it could be the GPU performance, that struggles to render your scene fast enough while gaming so OBS framerate or ingame framerate will drop.
It could also be an active tool like Shadowplay or Windows 10 GameDVR that you should turn off.

Ok. This could be it. I will give it a try and will have a look if shadowplay and GameDVR are active. Thanks so far :D

Also check, that your game_capture source has multi adapter compatibility turned off (I think it's called SLI mode now).
