Hi, I recently was playing around with my OBS recording settings to try to achieve better color results (my recordings were coming out a bit dark) and I found some settings that seemed nice. I'm not very knowledgeable about color formats so please bear with me.
My new color settings in Advanced options are
Color Format: I444
YUV Color Space: 709
YUV Color Range: Partial
However, when I go to import these new videos into either Windows Movie Maker or Sony Vegas, I get errors - they don't even load in WMM, and Sony Vegas brings in the audio, but won't display the video. They play perfectly fine in Media Player Classic, Media Player Classic, VLC, Windows Media Player, it's just editing programs that they aren't working with.
After some googling, it seems that "4:4:4 YUV" videos are the ones giving me this problem, while my old videos - which are "4:2:0 YUV full scale" work just fine.
My question is, are video editing programs just unable to handle 4:4:4 YUV color formats? Is there anything I can do to be able to edit these videos that I've already recorded in this format? Or do I need to go back to my old color settings - or some different color settings - instead of what I'm using?
Any help will be much appreciated, thanks!
