Question / Help Problems displaying text

Any text source that I create does not display, seemingly regardless of parameters. In order to see the text source, the workaround that I have found is to add a Filter of type Scaling/Aspect Ratio. Which of course distorts the natural aspect ratio of the text itself, requiring much futzing about to try to get it to look right.

Bear in mind that I am an OBS noob, so I may be missing something fundamental and obvious to others.

Any guidance?

Running OBS 24.0.6 on MacOS 10.15.4

Looks like a bug to me.

Try typing number and see if they show in the preview window.
My solution: press button Select font -> select from pulldown Writing System> Latin

Try with Helvetica first before selecting other fonts.

I'm having a similar issue. Sometimes when i load OBS my text is there and sometimes it is not!. this is really frustrating. I have reinstalled the font in windows, rebooted and now it's not displaying again.

OBS does not like custom fonts after reboot.
They need to be installed as for all users.

In my case, I hadn't to take the "all users options". Only drag to screen desk and reinstall and it worked !!
But I'll have your recomendation in the future if the before step dont work.
