Problem regarding OBS Virtual Camera

Whenever I try to use the OBS Virtual Camera all it does is load for a second, then tell me it failed.
I've already uninstalled and reinstalled both OBS itself and the Virtual Camera on its own (using the bat).
Basically, most things that are listed on one of those scammy sketchy "6 Tips to get Virtual Camera running!", I've done. I'm at a bit of a loss.
These are the specs of my puter:

Processor Snapdragon(R) X - X126100 - Qualcomm(R) Oryon(TM) CPU (2.96 GHz)
Installed RAM 16.0 GB (15.6 GB usable)
Device ID CF7A85EF-EAF7-4BF6-A08B-2BF32711E843
Product ID 00342-21559-96867-AAOEM
System type 64-bit operating system, ARM-based processor

lenovo

Thank you for reading and please help my puter!

Thanks for sharing that FAQ. I'm also running Windows on ARM and having issues with virtual camera - I can record fine, but when I select the OBS virtual camera in a videoconferencing app (Zoom, Teams etc) I get 'Cannot start video - Failed to start the video camera' or 'Camera already in use' error messages.

My OBS is showing as 'x64' architecture in Task Manager ie emulator and, based on the FAQ, I've run the installation file in the win-dshow plugin folder, which says it has found both the 32-bit and 64-bit Virtual Cam and therefore skips install. (Incidentally, I don't have the arm64.dll file in that folder, but if it's either/or and I'm running on an emulated version then that shouldn't matter?)

Any advice on what I'm missing, or on potential workarounds given Windows on Arm support is only experimental atm?

One idea I had was to use VDO.Ninja to output my OBS feed and then screenshare that into the call instead of using video - but I fear there might be awful lag between video and audio (without having explored or tested at all). Thanks - any suggestions appreciated.
