Problem Recording on a Remote PC

My primary music making system is on a Mac. I'm trying to record on a Windows 11 machine on my network.

The Win11 machine has OBS, the USB camera, and an old recording interface (Roland Octacapture).

I figured the easiest way to control the whole thing is from the Mac using Remote Desktop. But when I remote in, the Win11 machine acts as if there''s no sound card. So I have to switch my monitor, use a diff keyboard, etc to get OBS to see it's audio and then record.

I don't need to monitor the audio from the Win 11 machine. I just need to see that the meters aren't peaking and it's OK.

I know this is probably more of a Microsoft question but perhaps someone knows why Remote Desktop is such a PIA with Audio.

Thx

OK, me figure out.

So it turns out the setting on the Mac Remote Desktop client for "Play Sound" was set to "Never". Changing it to "On Remote PC" seems to have solved this and the ability to use midi on the octacapture remotely.
