Preview Screen Not Showing Any Images

Hello All,

Thanks for your time and consideration, as I'm completely new to this software. I'm trying to use OBS to transfer old home movies from 8mm and VHS tapes over to digital, and I've been experiencing the same issue over and over again. I cannot get anything to show up on the preview screen, even though the audio from the tapes is coming through just fine. The screen just stays black, though I can get the red outline to appear if I select "Transform", then "Fit to screen". I've sifted through numerous posts on several sites about how this could be an issue with conflicting GPUs, but I'm not working on a laptop and only have one option when it comes to graphics processing...so I don't think that's the problem. The log for my most recent attempt is below.

When I first tried converting some of these old tapes, I was using the licensed software packaged with my video/audio converter device (a super cheap DIGITNOW grabber from amazon.com), but stopped when I ran into a similar issue. Could it be some problem with my desktop computer?

Thanks in advance!

Code:

19:42:11.185:
19:42:41.299: DShow: HDevice::ConnectFilters: RenderStream failed (0x80070057): The parameter is incorrect.

It does indeed appear to be a driver issue. Are all the proper drivers installed? And if everything is setup correctly, they may be incompatible.

Which driver is acting up? Those lines are from the section dealing with my connected VHS player, so does that mean the issue lies with it? The player is...quite old, so I wouldn't be surprised if it's simply incompatible.
