Preview/Program Not Working

I'm fairly new to OBS, and if this is already mentioned, please direct me there.

The problem: I am currently streaming one camera and every now and then I throw up a graphic. When I got to launch the graphic, it immediately sends it to the program. When I first installed the program, I was able to see it on the preview screen before sending it to the program screen. Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks!

You editing current "Program" scene. Instead, you should: select scene, make it live/Program (via Transition button), then select other scene - modify it, then make modified scene live/Program.

To edit current live/Program scene without showing changes in real-time you need to allow to OBS to make copy of the current scene and its sources. The option named Scene Duplicate, it is located in Studio Mode, right to the Transition button, under the "Configuration" icon (icon for the button depends on the theme and OBS version, so click some buttons until you find required one). If you need to modify some properties of the existing sources that already live (in the "Program") then you need to set also the Duplicate Sources checkbox (located at the same place as Scene Duplicate). Here OBS uses literal meaning of the "scene" duplicate - only the scene contents copied (places and sizes of what it consist of), but sources and its properties remains untouched (it's like to make a "shadowed" scene and place in it only referenced copies of all sources from original scene).

But if you prepare all assets before the streaming - you even don't need the Studio Mode. You can place all assets to different Scenes and switch between the Scenes real-time.
