good afternoon! I encountered such a problem, I downloaded the obs from steam, because it is convenient and at hand. When I launch a new window, it seems to detect the game that I put on output, but it stupidly takes and shows the obs instead of the game, and even in a greatly enlarged mode. Use the appropriate source type for the kind of capture you intend to do. If you want to capture a game, use game capture. If you want to capture some other app window, use window capture. If both don't show what you want, use display capture.

If you use display capture, keep in mind it records everything on the display. So if you have OBS on the display, OBS will show itself. To show other apps, minimize OBS or simply switch to that app. You can also exclude OBS from being captured in Settings > General > Hide OBS windows from screen capture.
