I think it'd be nice to be able to preview and edit a scene without switching the output to it so I can verify sources are coming in correctly or change inputs or various other things while having some other scene up like a title card or whatever was being displayed previously without bringing up the new scene and broadcasting all my futzing around or potentially bringing up a broken input or just the wrong input/scene. Maybe do it as a side by side thing, maybe with the output stream minimized to a smaller space or just 2 completely separate windows I dunno.
