Question / Help Preview causing jittery recordings.

I’m recording games on windows 10 with an AMD 2700x and rtx2070 card. Whether using nvenc or x264, I can get buttery smooth recording at 1080p60, but only if I have the preview turned off or tucked behind another window. If I turn on the preview or don’t run it behind my game window, I get super jittery, lagging recordings.
Has anyone else experienced this issue?

Do you have multiple monitors running at different refresh rates? That's the most common cause.
Windows does not deal with split-refresh well when it comes to 3D accelerated graphics. There is apparently a fix for this in the upcoming Win10 2004 update, but in the meantime the only way to fix it is to run all monitors at the same refresh rate, or disable the Preview window in OBS.

If it's not that, please post a link to a logfile generated while the issue was happening, and we can take a peek.
