new clean install of obs 28.1.1 (had been on 27). But the preview frame and the program frame are small and misplaced. Here is my log file, and ill attach a picture.

notice those two grayed boxes near top left are really partial preview and program frames, and the overlay the menus.

I should note I'm running windows 10, on a dell xps 13 7390 with screen res of 3840X2400 with a 300% scale for text, apps, and other items. If i dont use the 300% everything is to tiny to read without a magnifying glass.

should i try other settings here, or is this an obs bug?

This problem is an issue with V28 I didn't have it with V27. See the following posts https://obsproject.com/forum/threads/obs-28-screen-layout-issues.159288/#post-585228 and https://obsproject.com/forum/thread...rent-monitors-resolutions.160717/#post-589094. There have been a number of posts on the same topic, My LG 4k monitor running at 3840 x 2160 (150%) does the same. I have tried multiple settings to get the correct display which can be achieved but not at the highest resolution. The closest I get is 2560 x 1440 which corrects the OBS home screen but I don't like the display text for the rest of my windows apps. I suspect that because there are simple configuration work arounds this issue is a long way down the "let's get it fixed list" for the OBS devs.

I just found that I have to set system display scale settings to 100% to resolve this problem, but as you noted, then you have to lower the screen resolution so the normal text is legible. So it seems to be just this scale factor, regardless of the screen resolution.

So the answer is, this is an OBS bug triggered by having a system/display/scale setting more than 100%. As you start witha 100% scale setting the preview and program window are the proper size and placement. but as you increase the scale setting, these window stay the same size and offset from the upper-left corner, while everything else of the OBS windows expand according to the scale setting.

So until this bug is fixed, the only answer is to only use a scale factor of 100%, which for me means reducing my screen resolution dramatically.

Hi @mzbnan to get a response and feedback on your particular problem you need to start a new thread with the problem not just add it to an unrelated thread. Also you need to post a log file..
