PowerPoint presents controlled by speaker from his laptop

Question:

What is the best way to set up a PowerPoint presentation to be run through OBS, with the PowerPoint on another laptop so the speaker can control it, and have the laptop attached to the desktop where we run the live stream using OBS?

is it best to attach the laptop to the desktop with an HDMI cable? Or through a USB cable?

1. I recommend reconsidering approach - run PPT on OBS PC, then remote control PPT

there is various methods of sending page/slide advance to PPT remotely​

2. But if truly requires running PPTx on own PC
consider NDI out to OBS? vs a HDMI capture card
