Question / Help Possible to stream on a MBP 13" Retina early 2015?

I'm currently trying to stream my Hearthstones games but the stream is like struggling most of the time with 10-15 FPS.

Is there any option or poissibility to stream without any issues with that setup?

I mean the display of your Macbook, not in OBS. OBS either has to deal with your MacBook's native Retina resolution, or it has to scale it down to whatever your target resolution is. I've heard other users with Retina displays encounter performance problems with games on those displays, and the best solution is to go to System Preferences > Displays and choose a smaller, non-native resolution for your display, and set that to the canvas size in OBS Settings > Video.

Oh, no.

If you have a retina display, and set it to less, the real display is still twice the apparent display.

I set my display to "Looks like 1024x640", and my display is really 2048x1280. There's at least one font that uses the high-res display for clarity, and any app can still use high-res icons if not actual graphics.

To work with a 1024x576 game display, I set base resolution (settings -> video) to 2048x1152, and scale to 1024x576. I can then toss the Lanczos (32 sample) downscaling in, and the "fuzzy/blurry" problem goes away -- the downsampling is actually as sharp as "discard excess pixels". (I clip the display capture to only the 576 lines I want).

And that addresses the performance issue? I think the problem is that whatever game he's streaming is set to display at the native display, and OBS just can't handle it.

It may sound stupid but how do I find that out?
At the bottom of the OBS window, the application will display an error if it cannot keep up with encoding.

In the same place, if you are having problems with bandwidth, it will report the number of dropped frames (frames OBS didn't or couldn't send because they got too old before your machine could upload them).
