Possible to edit Video Capture and Display Capture separately after recording?

Use case: Recording myself writing in MS OneNote and with my video in the lower right corner. This is for teaching. I'm explaining as I write.

Problem: I use Display Capture to capture me writing on OneNote. I use Video Capture on top of that with me positioned in the lower right. But in my video editing software the video and display of OneNote are merged so that I cannot move my video part around or crop it or anything.

Question: Is OBS the right tool? Or is there a better tool that does both recording and editing?

You can record those separately with Source Record.
