I am no longer able to stream on the PC that I have been streaming on for the last 7 months, Ever since the first couple days of February, when I fire up OBS and go live, my entire system freezes five minutes into the stream. This was never a problem until February.
If I monitor the task manager, whenever I am live, "System interrupts" quickly utilizes 100% of my CPU and within a matter of minutes, my entire system freezes. The only way to unfreeze my system at this point is to hold the power button to force shut off my laptop. Prior to February, I was able to stream Final Fantasy XIV to Facebook Gaming with only using 15 - 20% CPU. Now I am unable to stream simple SNES emulators without my CPU jumping to 100% with System Interrupts at the helm.
Any other time, System Interrupts is always at 0% CPU. I have a couple resource intensive games on my PC that I do not stream, I just play, and I can play those just fine and no issues. System Interrupts is at 0% during those. It is only when I go live with OBS that System Interrupts goes to 100% CPU
A Google search suggests that System Interrupts using 100% CPU is most likely a driver problem. So during the second week of February, I had Windows Update install literally every driver for my laptop that it had available. Sadly, this did not fix the problem. I ran a test stream and the PC froze a couple minutes in.
I did install Cheat Engine 7.2 on January 31st. I thought that may be the problem. So two weeks ago, I uninstalled it using Revo Uninstaller Pro making sure to remove all left over registry entries and leftover files. Sadly, it was not Cheat Engine that was causing the issue. Problem persists.
Last week, Nvidia had an update to my graphics card drivers so I installed them and ran a test stream. I was able to go 10 minutes, the longest I have been able to go since January. However, my system froze at roughly 10 minutes in. System Interrupts at 100% CPU as usual.
Since I have been able to stream for seven months prior with virtually no issues and the problem started in February, it seems that something was either updated or changed on my PC that is causing this conflict.
I ran SFC /scannow, check disk, and mem test, all of which pass with flying colors on every test that I ran. I ran them a few times. So anything related to that is not likely to be the issue
Since this is a hard system freeze. OBS is unable to generate any log files. However, I did get lucky during one test stream where I ran it for five minutes and stopped the test stream before a system freeze. Thus I assume that I got a log file out of it. System Interrupts was all over the road during this. I hope that the log files contain something useful in diagnosing my problem.
Can anybody help me here?
