My biggest complaints with Macintosh seems to be that it only allows 9 cameras of the same type in one USB tree. If a 10th camera comes on with the exact same name it just freezes up and doesn't know what to do.
As of macos 10.12 and before, which is well obsolete by now, if two or more identical items appeared in the USB tree the Mac OS would put a parentheses and number inside there. And those USB numbers would only change if the USB tree is messed with by unplugging or replugging in something.
I have 10 identical cameras because they're each five stereo pairs to film in 3D.
I only use three pairs at a time but it seems like unplugging them is a bigger inconvenience because I have to reorganize OBS each time and it won't keep all 10 stored without losing one.
Literally the only thing I use my computer for is obs. All my email my web browsing etc etc is done on my Android. All my gaming is done on consoles.
The last time I had an experience with a PC was 18 years ago when I was using virtual PC on the Macintosh and I had dial-up back then and tech support had my computer and wouldn't let go.
My 2023 Mac Mini M2 basic seems to do well with OBS as long as the cameras are monochrome and the whites are dyed red and cyan. Displaying six full color cameras Plus one full color capture model full color capture card is causing freezeouts of one (maybe 2) of my cameras.
Also worried about security because I know that Windows machines are notorious for telling the world you're on and as a non-pc user we never had to deal with security issues except Common Sense ones, like don't use the word "password" as your password.
For someone who doesn't like to fine tune a computer like some people fine-tune cars for drag racing, is there a model of PC and a retailer that can give me unlimited non-invasive tech support meaning talk through everything over the phone and as long as they don't have to physically fix any parts it's free for the life usage of the computer, so like Apple's unlimited talk through guarantee they don't give me enough power and enough USB bandwidth to do a twitch cast reasonably well with 100 megabits out bandwidth?
Would be the considered the equivalent to a Mac Mini on a PC?
