Portable OBS Studio (Linux) advisable?

Hi guys!
As I just set up a fresh install of Manjaro KDE (due to the old one making problems) I am thinking of building a portable installation of OBS Studio following the wiki manual.
Reason is I think it could be way easier to transfer to another (Linux) OS when needed. No hassle with backing up files and folders. What do you think?
Any (other) way to use/sync/backup settings between multiple OS (Linux, Windows)?
