Question / Help Popping audio in recorded "display capture" scene only.

I record daily, multiple times, using other scenes that have different video sources. They all record audio fine. Roughly once a week I need to record desktop with "Display Capture" and the recorded audio has popping. It's not even during audio peaks, it's just randomly through the video it pops and crackles. These pops are visible in the audio waveform.

The display capture recording is the only one that does it, and it's fairly consistent that it does it.

As per other help topics on this:
I am not using a capture card.
I have both the audio sample rate in OBS and in Windows set to 48kHz.
This is not being recorded on a USB interface.
I DO have a scene with video capture device, but I've tried lowering the quality, disabling, and removing that completely and it still occurs.

Again, it only happens on Display Capture. Wondering if there's anything else I can try.

Using default aac encoder for audio.

It seemed to be the audio encoder I was using.

I switched from AAC and tried out libvorbis, ac3 and eac3, and all had NO popping whatsoever compared to the default AAC.

I'm not sure what is causing the audio issues with default encoder settings, or if non-default audio encoder settings would fix the issue with AAC, but simply switching encoders takes a lot less figuring out.

Ran 4 preliminary tests using vorbis, and my audio issue in Display Capture scenes seems to be fixed.

Nope... nevermind... 5th test failed miserably. Seems that the issue is much more intermittent though than it was previously with AAC. I wonder if this is simply a quality issues?

Any custom audio encoder settings I can try?
