Question / Help Poor quality on video file

I'm just wondering why the recording of my screen is quite laggy when I look at it after I finish recording. I figure this is because I'm on a 27-inch Mac and OBS is being unable to deal with the resolution size. I've messed around all day with the resolution within the OBS application but nothing seems to work. I have my source is set to Window Capture. On the gameplay I have about 200 FPS and I have OBS set to 60, yet the recording is nowhere near 60. It seems that the smaller I shrink down the game window the better quality I get in the finished recording due to smaller resolution. As I minimize the resolution in OBS I notice the quality get slightly better but I've lowered it as far as it goes (928x522). How do I get just as good quality in the recording as I do in the gameplay that I'm seeing?

Window capture on MacOS is nonperformant. You should use syphon if possible or display capture if not.

Turn on advanced mode.

Use CRF rate control set as low as you can stand. This will maximize quality. Start at the default and reduce it until it impacts gameplay, then bump it back up a notch or two.

Syphon won't work, display capture drops my frames dramatically, and there's no change in window capture. When I use window capture it gets the job done, but it not necessarily enjoyable. The gameplay quality is fine, just that when OBS records, it isn't good on the video.
