Question / Help Point of Profiles?

Wondering if someone could fill me in on the point of Profiles in OBS Studio. I have two profiles setup in the hopes that I could save settings independent to each of those profiles so that I wouldn't have to change delay settings on several different inputs each time I want to switch from streaming from my PC vs a game console via my capture device. But when I set the delay settings in Profile #2 (Xbox Streaming profile, let's call it), and then changed over to my Profile #1 (my PC streaming profile), the delay settings were all in there as well.

Can someone illuminate me on 1) if it's possible to save settings specific to each profile or, 2) if not, what the purpose of separate profiles really is.

Delay settings for sources would be in your scene collections.
Profiles are for settings like streaming service, bitrate and co.
