If media files are NOT set to "Restart playback when source becomes active", they continue to play in the background. If they are set to restart, then as soon as you change to another scene, they stop. This can be verified on the audio meters.
This Behaviour is bad, as it uses resources unnecessary, and if you are using the Audio Monitor plugin filters on media, they are always playing, regardless of the scene being in PGM / PVW or some other scene entirely.
Pretty sure this happens on many versions, but for reference, I am on 27.1.3 currently.
