Hello,

Firstly I would like to thank the OBS creators for making this awesome software for us to use!
I am hoping someone may be able to help me with an issue I have encountered while setting up a 2 PC streaming setup for twitch.

I am using an Avermedia 2 PLUS Capture card to transmit video and audio from the gaming PC, and Voice meter Banana on the gaming PC for mixing the audio.

Here is my dilemma; I have encountered a very strange disappearance of the audio track for Desktop sounds on the streaming PC for Video Capture Device. It disappears randomly, and I lose audio, and then randomly by deleting and re adding things and rebooting the computers repeatedly it will reappear. I use it for a full stream and it works flawlessly... but then next time I start OBS its gone again! I have tried so many things to make this work and I have run out of runway. I am hoping one of you brilliant folks might be able to help me out or have a similar experience and could possibly shed some light.

PS.
I should mention I have tested this in the software avermedia gives you and it has audio every time without issues, so it looks like it might be an OBS issue.

Thanks in advance!

Make sure you connect the capture card directly to your PC without any hub in between. Use a cable that is not too long.

And make sure you don't add the capture card or any audio sources to OBS twice. In case you need your sources in multiple scenes, add the source with the "add existing" option and not with "create new". Sources added with "add existing" have all the same name, and sources added with "create new" have all different names, so you are able to identify which source was added by which means.

So the only questionable item from your list to review is this; I have a 15 foot HDMI running from the gaming PC to the streaming PC's Capture card. I wondered if this was the problem and I did test with a shorter cable, providing the same result. I have also attempted to use a different capture card thinking mine was possibly defective, and same issue. I have tried rolling back to old versions of OBS, upgrading to new... pretty much every trick under the book and I cannot seem to figure this issue out!

Also, there Is one video capture device for webcam, and one for the capture card. These are the only two currently in use and only one instance of each is presented.

Any other insight?
