Hi,

Yesterday I captured 7 videos on my laptop. The videos are very important because they captured a series of experiments I performed for a uni project of mine. However, when viewing them today all I see is a black screen with the cursor! I have no idea what happened, at the time the preview showed it was Display Capture and was working. I have ran a recording today without changing any settings and it worked fine.

Does anyone know if it is possible to recover the videos? - any suggestion is appreciated because it took a ridiculous amount of time to setup these experiments!

Below are two links one to an example video where the issue occurred, the other is the log file from yesterday. The log file seems to show lots of failures for something :(

Example Video:

Thanks! - Adam B

Just a heads-up. So far I've tried converting them on VLC, installing various codecs and viewing them on different devices all with no avail.

It's a completely valid and complete video. Static black background showing a moving mouse cursor. There is nothing hidden. You have what you see. If you wanted more than a black background, you have to record the stuff again.

That's the bad news I was expecting, 13 hours down the drain :(

However, it doesn't explain why it didn't record. If anyone knows how dissect the log file I'd be interested in knowing what caused it please.
