Question / Help Playing videos and multiple camera question

Hello, We are looking at using OBS as our streaming software and I had 2 simple questions:
1. Can we roll in videos during various parts of the livestream?
2. We will have multiple cameras and already have the right hardware to feed them - can we switch from different camera views within OBS? I didn't want to assume this is do-able.

Thanks for your help!

Yes, you can add multimedia files as sources. You can also add VLC playlists as sources.

You can set up "scenes" in OBS to switch to that include one or more sources.

So 1 more question as we are about to download OBS and get the right cords, etc. So we don't need a switcher to switch between multiple camera, correct? Where in essence if I understand you right, the OBS scenes are really our "switcher". Thanks for helping a "newby"!

That depends on your specific camera interface/capture device. If each camera shows up as a separate UVC video device (like most webcams), each can be added as a separate Video Capture Device source in OBS, and you can place each of them in scenes as you like. At that point, yes, OBS would be your switcher.
