Playback is jerky after saving files

I used a capture card (HDMI to USB 3) and OBS to save some stuff from my TV. WHen I play it back, any movement seems very jerky. Sound and video are in sync but things like cars going by and people walking seems to be off. Is there a setting I have missed or is the capture card? I was capturing on my laptop which has an AMD Ryzen 7-4700 CPU (quite fast by laptop standards). I saved it as full HD.

Any other information you need to know?

We need to see a logfile from a recording session where the issue was occurring, to be able to troubleshoot.
