I'm trying to use obs to record my monitor while I draw on photoshop, and this was working for about 2 hours. I closed my laptop windows 8 and came back to find it messed up. Now it'll record my mouse and the very base of photoshop with all the tools, but not record the picture file I bring up whatsoever.

OBS Studio, as I understand, was designed nor to record applications, but more like to create streams and record them. Maybe you find that some simple recording software is fit to you even more. Of course, you may try 'Display Capture' in OBS Studio instead of 'Window Capture' (because Photoshop can use some video accelerations etc).
